Chris Martin is Managing Director of Callander Youth Project Trust and started working with the charity 6 years ago. Chris is a social entrepreneur who has a background in both formal and informal education. Chris studied English Literature at the University of Dundee and subsequently completed his degree in Community Learning and Development whilst managing his own business. Chris has received national acclaim for his work at the youth project who have been recognised with a number of high profile awards including Exceptional Employee at last year’s Scottish Charity Awards. Chris has led transformational change at the project and developed a number of innovative social enterprises including taking a failing hotel and turning into the 5 star Callander Hostel that employs young people who are furthest removed from the labour market. The hostel have welcomed over 15,000 visitors in the 30 months it has been open and trained 18 young people who otherwise wouldn’t be in positive destinations.
