Social Enterprise Auckland: The Leading Edge and the World

Friday, 22 September 2017 | 9:00am to 4:30pm
The Generator, 12 Madden Street, Innovation Precinct, Auckland CBD

In September 2017 the world’s social enterprise leaders will gather in New Zealand to share wisdom, build networks and discuss how to create a more sustainable future at SEWF 2017.

On Friday, 22nd of September, Auckland’s social entrepreneurs are invited to come together with their world-leading counterparts to make new connections to support their future success and our shared prosperity – the focus of this event: Social Enterprise Auckland: The leading edge and the world.

Participants will hear first-hand from some of the globe’s most inspirational social enterprise leaders and gain insights on overcoming challenges and breaking new ground. International speakers who will present in a kecha pucha style during the morning include:

  • Peter Holbrook - Social Enterprise UK
  • Mary Jo Kaplan – Loomio
  • Mike Curtin – DC Central Kitchen
  • Graham Lewis – Green Propeller
  • Indu Balachandran – National Centre of Indigenous Excellence

In the afternoon, attendees will join two of several work-streams where they’ll have the opportunity to discuss and explore issues specific to them. These sessions will match the best international expertise with local leaders and practitioners.

What next? Before the day concludes with a relaxed networking session and refreshments, attendees will have the opportunity to help co-design a future for social enterprise in Auckland. What is the legacy we want to create at the Social Enterprise World Forum for our city? What more is needed to maintain the impetus and support for the sector in Auckland in the years ahead?

You will leave this event full of new ideas, contacts and inspiration. Each attendee will be provided with the Social Enterprise Auckland directory to ensure you never need to do business alone, or lunch for that matter!

This event is presented by Social Enterprise Auckland in collaboration with

  • Auckland Council Community Empowerment Unit
  • The Southern Initiative
  • Department of Internal Affairs
  • Pacific Business Trust
  • Ākina Foundation
